The City
Santiago is the political and social capital of Chile, where more than 7 million people live in an environment that mixes history and modernity.

Santiago has a high-altitude, moderate Mediterranean climate with regular temperature variations during winter and summer. It rains between March and September (autumn and winter) with very low rain levels during summer. In November, during the Conference dates, the mean máximum rate temperature is 27.8° C (82º F), while the minimum average temperature is 10.6º C (51º F).
